What it really means to own your resale

When a fan can no longer attend, resale can help their ticket reach someone who can. For a venue, club or promoter, the way that happens matters: the price, the buyer's experience and how it fits alongside the original ticket sale.

Owning your resale means being able to shape those decisions around your events and your audience. It matters both to the organisations putting on the events and to the ticketing partners supporting them.

The rules should fit the event

A theatre may want resale at face value. A festival may allow a modest premium after selling out, where permitted. A football club may want season ticket holders to list individual matches, while keeping hospitality packages out of resale entirely.

Even within one event, the rules can change. Resale might open only once primary inventory sells out, close a few hours before doors, or apply to selected ticket categories.

Being able to set these rules for each event and ticket category lets you support different commercial goals while respecting the requirements that apply in your market.

The fan experience should feel like yours

A fan returning to your ticketing site should find a familiar experience, with the account they already use and clear instructions on what happens next.

With resale integrated into that journey, the buyer receives a valid reissued ticket and the seller receives their payout through the service. Your brand can carry through the entire experience, from the listing page to the confirmation email.

Connecting the original purchase, resale and final ticket holder also gives you a fuller picture of what happens to your tickets after the first sale.

Resale needs more than listings

Making a ticket available is only the first step. Someone still has to find it and complete the purchase.

A sold-out event page can show available resale tickets. A waitlist can alert fans when a seat becomes available. Pricing guidance can help sellers choose a price at which their ticket is more likely to sell.

These features help connect available tickets with demand for your event. For a club, that can give another supporter a chance to use a season ticket holder's seat. For a venue, it can help tickets reach people who would otherwise miss the show.

The operation behind the experience

Running resale means managing payments and payouts, identity checks, fraud prevention, disputes, tax, ticket reissuance and compliance across markets. That work continues as new events launch and requirements change.

Owning the decisions does not mean your team has to build and manage every part of that operation.

This is where menta comes in. Its white-label resale infrastructure runs inside the ticketing platform, under the brand fans already know. Working with ticketing partners, menta handles the technology and day-to-day resale operations, while venues, clubs and organisers shape the rules for their events.

You decide how resale works for your events. menta runs the operation behind it.
